Since September 1925, Saint Cecilia School Community has been committed to the mission of Catholic School education to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all students in grades Kindergarten through Eight. The development of each child is nurtured in a religious as well as challenging educational environment.
|
St. Cecilia Elementary School is committed to providing a quality education for the students by contributing to the religious, educational, physical, and emotional growth of the children. We are dedicated to preserving the Catholic identity of our school and upholding the Sister, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) tradition of dedicated teaching and Christ-centered leadership. Parents, teachers, students, as partners in our educational endeavors, are vital to the accomplishment of our goals.
| |
| Saint Cecilia consists of a committed and dedicated faculty with a strong educational background. Realizing that our primary obligation is the total education of each child, we continue to update our professional knowledge and practices with seminars and workshops. We believe in an open relationship between our home and school communities.
|
We realize and acknowledge how integral parents are to the children’s educational success. To keep the lines of communication open between the home and school, the youngest or only child in each family receives a weekly communication envelope. This allows the parents to know of current events and the many ways they can participate more fully in their children’s school lives.
| |
| As a faculty and staff, we foster and encourage our students to participate in the many activities at the school and parish levels. Some activities include the children as altar servers, lectors, sports, theater troupe, student government, and members of the children’s choir.
|
The children become aware of and work to put into practice the many qualities that are needed to grow as responsible Christian people. In some grades, the children have the added experience of the Heart Room where they learn through prayer and song all about the love that Jesus has for each of them and how to bring that love to others. We have also been fortunate to have a “retired-teaching” IHM sister working with the children in proclaiming God’s Word as lectors and helping children participate more fully in our school liturgies and prayer services.
